Life Update: PCC, It’s Almost Over

Life Update: PCC, It’s Almost Over

We’re in the home stretch. It’s the last term at PCC and I am so ready to be DONE.

This term, I’m taking Older Adult Fitness and doing my second (and last) internship at Rebel Fit Club. Rebel Fit Club is a boxing gym for people with Parkinson’s disease. I’ve been helping support in group classes, creating social media content, and this week, I taught my first virtual class! I taught Seated Yoga. It was a 30 minute class, which is shorter than I’m used to, but it was really good.

I’ve been teaching at THPRD as well.

I’m still teaching Adaptive Yoga. I feel like it’s always going to be a class I’m going to advocate for and ask to teach. I partnered with another instructor to teach Adaptive Weight Training. We had our last class this week and I’m looking forward to more classes in the fall. I’ve done a few Fitness in the Park classes and earlier this year, I taught Youth Weight Training.

Graduation is June 13th. I’m graduating with honors and delivering the commencement speech. It’s been such a busy few months, it’s going to be weird not running to five different locations in one day when summer rolls around.

My attempt at “self-care”- A face mask while scrolling on my phone.

What are you looking forward to this summer? I’m looking forward to park days and sunshine.

I’m Coach Rose.

I am on a mission to rewrite the narrative around fitness, creating a space where individuals of all sizes and abilities can find joy in movement. As a BIPOC woman and athlete in a larger body, I have experienced discrimination in the fitness industry and am committed to fostering empathy and acceptance.
