Self-care Challenge- Day 16: Affirmations

One way to boost your confidence is with positive self-talk. My favorite way is to use an affirmation for a quick boost for my mental health. Today, take some time to create an affirmation just for you.

Try these steps:

  1. Think about a part of your life you’d like to focus on. Where could you use some extra encouragement?
  2. Imagine the outcome you want in that area. Picture yourself living your best life.
  3. Using an “I” statement, what positive aspect represents this “you” in that scenario? Tip: try to keep it achievable.

Here’s my example: I am struggling with getting enough sleep. My anxious mind just can’t shut off during the night. I wake up worried about various things and then decide I need to get up and start my day. In my best life, I am getting more than 3-4 hours of sleep a night. I’m rested and feel healthy.

An affirmation I could use is: I am safe and grateful for a restful night’s sleep.

I would say this to myself before sleep. I can already see myself calming down before falling asleep. I think I’ll try it for a few nights and report back.

What is an affirmation you can use today?
