Take some time today to reflect on a recent experience you’ve had. There are so many benefits to reflecting about events in our lives. Even just reflecting on your day.

For some people, keeping a regular journal is easy. For others (like me…), it’s a little more difficult.
Some of the benefits of reflecting on events or your day include:
- Personal growth– Getting a better understanding of yourself and developing resilience
- Learning– Often, there are lessons that can be learned from life experiences
- Self-awareness– Reflection can help us become more aware of our actions and how they impact others
- Behavior change– If it’s your goal, reflection can aid in changing behaviors or implementing a new practice/habit
- Learning from your mistakes– I think this is the biggest benefit.
Reflection doesn’t have to be in the form of a journal entry. Maybe you talk it out with a friend or your partner. What’s important is getting the words out and working through it.

I love this graphic from Talupp. It has some good questions for reflection but also shows how some experiences can look like a lump of coal but reflecting on them, they can turn into diamonds.
And who doesn’t love sparkly things?
